Although Egypt is moving up in the world in terms of development, almost 50% of its population still lives on less than $2.00 per day. In addition, Cairo in particular has become a main settling point for refugees from all over the region (Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Chad, Iraq, Palestine, DRC, etc.). So if you're interested in a different way of giving gifts this Christmas, Egypt could definitely use your help.

Every year, the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist in Cairo publishes a "Spirit of Giving" Charity Gift Catalogue.
